Areti Skavantzou is a young visual artist located in Greece. Her work focuses on landscape paper engravings. Paper engraving is a technique that Skavantzou recently stumbled upon during her studies at the Frances Rich School of Fine and Performing Arts, in Greece, in a course taught by PhD.Dionisis Christofilogiannis, honored artist and mentor to whom she will always be in debt.

Bio

Areti Skavantzou (b. 1994 Athens, Greece) is a young visual artist located in Greece. Her work focuses on landscape paper engravings. Paper engraving is a technique that Skavantzou recently discovered during her studies at the Frances Rich School of Fine and Performing Arts (F.R.S.P.A) of DEREE – the American College of Greece, Athens, Greece. She recently had her first solo exhibition, and participated at a group show in the Museum of Arts, in Cluj, Romania. She has also participated with various works at the “Le Corbusier” exhibition, in 2016, in Open Case 303, curated by Konstantinos Argianas, Kifissia, Athens, Greece. She is currently finishing her studies as an honors visual arts student, as well as her minor in Psychology. She is a recipient of various scholarships, as well as an International Honors student since 2013. She has served her College as the President of the International Honors Society (Jan. – Dec. 2014), as the Vice-president (2015 – 2016), when the “F.R.S.F.P.A Society Award of the Year” was received, as well as the President of the Visual Arts Society (2016 – 2017). As a young artist, Areti draws inspiration from a variety of elements, including feminism, human existentialism, socially engaged art, philosophy and psychology.
